What’ve y’all been up to?
I’ve been working on several yarn projects and trying to declutter my photos. The photos are a massive undertaking. I’ve pictures from my entire life, but have dabbled in amateur photography with my cell phone since 2009. I can definitely tell the differences between years based on the content and context of the photos I took in each one.
We became homeless in 2013 — there were well over 1500 photos in that year alone as I vacillated between sharing our experiences publicly and wanting to be as private as possible. I ended up settling on close-up photos of the flora and fauna around us and sharing solely what felt right in the moment. I mainly let the images do the talking.
Sadly, I did not have much time for purging unused or unnecessary extra photos as I took them, so that’s what I’ve been working on with my photos of late. They take up so much space, that I haven’t been able to do as much as I’d like with my camera. We’re super cheap here — I’m not paying for storage. So here lately, I’ve been going through the thousands of photos I’ve taken since 2009. This is a part of the reason why posts and updates often come out slowly | rarely; but honestly, I appreciate that about my writing here, though I also want to cultivate some sense of community — that part, needs more work, I think, though.
Tinkerings
When we first moved back to Georgia, I was trying to use up yarn I’ve had for a year or two. I turned it into a toy hammock — I’ve several stuffed animals, including Pokémon my husband has collected and gifted to me. The border around it is a rainbow yarn from Lily’s Sugar ‘N Cream.
We started playing some new games with our cats, and now they’re working on their band name…
…naturally, the dogs are keeping an ear out for the album.
